It normally takes 50 years or more for a Saint to be canonized. By the time they become Saints, the people who got the chance to have any close contact with them are already gone to even talk about him/her. We are a very lucky generation. We can claim that we have seen a Saint in person and pass on stories to the next generation. Not to mention that we have a lot of documented videos in file to share about the works of the soon to be Canonized Blessed John Paul II. Here is a link that talks about the untold story before his death. Please also note that the Philippines was mentioned several times in this video. For those who attended the mass, the last time he was in Manila during World Youth Day (1995), he said, "I will see you soon" as a response to the chant of the youth. As he promised, he is now coming back to us, this time as a Saint and will be with us forever. Let us all celebrate his canonization on April 27, 2014. |
