This trip was a gift from my daughter's Lysa and Kim together with their respective partners Mike and Anthony for my 50th birthday. The original plan was to schedule it on the day of my birthday which was August 10 but due to an emergency surgery in July we had no choice but to move it in September.
My children are all aware how much I love Boracay having been there in 2005 and 2006. What made this trip more wonderful was the fact that this will be my baby's first Boracay trip. Kiel and I could not wait for September to arrive. There were a lot of events that happened from July to August. I went through D&C on the 5th of July and 10 days after a surgery was recommended because my bleeding did not stop. July 24th, I was confined and a successful surgery was performed on the 25th. To save up for our Boracay trip, Kiel and I worked on selling our leche flans. With the help of my daughter Kim and her partner Anthony we were able to sell and the proceeds went towards our savings. Lysa and Kim took care of our airline fare and hotel accommodations but for the spending spree while in Bora was on us. On August 22, our dearest pet "Peanut" died and all our savings went towards her hospitalization. On the same day, Kiel met an accident due to the pain caused by Peanut's passing. On August 28, after finishing our cheesecakes for selling to start saving again for our Bora trip our "kasambahay" left. For a week, it was Kiel and I who took care of all the household chores. I was limited in my movements due to my recent major surgery and since Kiel was just in an accident she was also limited in here movements. Kiel's wounds got very infected and the chores did not help her. Thank God our new "kasam bahay" arrived first week of September. On top of these personal concerns, we were also going through a lot of change in our work life. The account we were in decided to shut operations down in response to the recent elections in the USA. Kiel had to go through profiling to see on which account she can be assigned. I on the other hand don't know what to expect once I come back from my "magna carta" leave. You can just imagine, how much more excited we were to go to Bora. We badly needed this escape after going through a very challenging July and August.
