The Life, The Love, The Lessons
My Youngest Child - JR
The Son who will always be my Boy.
Being the youngest, he was
the center of attraction in the family. I never experienced being called
for by the school head for little mis-behaviors. He was the one who introduced
me to that world. He is the one who proudly tells his peers; "I am the
son of Lyka Ugarte, isn't she beautiful". He is always proud of me. He was
the one who mastered the "GOOgy GOOgy" eyes and he perfectly knows
how to get through to me even when I am mad. He loves my
cooking and he was the one who followed my steps in the kitchen
world. He is too lazy to study, yet, he has this great passion for music.
He is good with instruments, I did not even send him to school to learn
how to play the guitar and now he is one of the best guitarist in his
genre. That is the kind of world he created for himself. Like the
others, he also wanted to be independent because he needs to stay
out most of the time for his gigs and rehearsals. The minute he left
the house he had tattoo's made which he knew I hated. It greatly
pained my heart too when he decided to leave but i don't want
to interfere with his dream.
He seldom remembers simple occasions, yet he is always home
for Christmas (so far he still remembers that occasion) and New Year as
part of our family practice ever since. My boy is now working as a
trainer in a call center industry and at the same time performs everywhere.
I have always had the passion for music but never got around to honing it.
My boy took that route and I am happy for him. I just sometimes question,
why do they need to leave home to pursue their dreams? I don't think I
will live long enough to even find the answer. I just pray that he will always be fine.
