The Life, The Love, The Lessons:
My Eldest Son - Phylbert
The only Child and son who carries my name forever. He is the
child with whom all my battles in life, good or bad, happy or sad,
success or failure, was a witness. Young as he was, without even
understanding why life has to be as such; he crossed the bridge
with me. Being the first in the family, I had to work overtime to sustain all the needs.
I must admit that my mother played the biggest part in his growing
up years and accepted the fact that he loved my mom more than me.
Phyl's philosophy in life came out to be exactly opposite than what i expected him to be.
He battled with life independently, but never reached the ground until his
failures in life pushed him. He had a daughter at an early stage of his adulthood,
took the responsibility of a Father, got himself a fulfilling job, but there have
been ups and downs along the way. Yet, he stood firm, lost a job, then
find another one...that was his cycle... His Father did not want him born
into this world, but i insisted. He might be deprived of a fatherly love
but with my mother, he was filled with love more than a father can ever
give. I am sure that he felt the whole world tumbled down when my
mother passed away, but as have said, life goes on no matter how
painful it is.
Phyl developed a world without a Mother. His independence
and love for life he belonged to developed him as such. I still believe
that whatever road he will pass through, there is that one road left that
will lead him home and finally he will realize that going back to a mother
will make his life lighter and more complete.
